THEORETICAL FOUNDATION
2.1 General Theories
General theories consist of theories that are used to develop the Android
application that will be explained below.
2.1.1
Software Engineering
According to Pressman (2010:13), Software Engineering is the
application of a systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approach to
the development, operation, and maintenance of software.
2.1.2
Software Categories
According to Pressman (2010:7),computer software can be
divided   into several categories:
a.
System software
System software is a collection of programs written to service
other programs. Some system software such as compilers, editors
process complex information structures. Other system applications
such as operating system components, drivers process largely
indeterminate data.
b.
Application software
Software that consist of stand-alone programs that solve a specific
business need. Applications in this area process business or
technical data in a way that facilitates business operations or
technical decision making. 
c.
Product-line software
Designed to provide a specific capability for use by many
different customers. Product-line software can focus on address
mass consumer markets such as word processing, spreadsheets,
multimedia, and database management.
