Applications and Widgets
Applications and Widgets is the highest layer in Android
architecture, which is the only thing end user can see.
Applications are programs that can take over the whole screen and
interact with the user. Widgets, on the other hand, operate as a part
in the home screen.
Several standard applications that are usually preinstalled in most
Android phone are:

Development Kit is an add-on for Java Development Kit and
also a plugin for Eclipse Integrated Development Environment
