Porter argues that any
firm that
fails
to
implement one of
these
strategies will
fall
into
a
category,
which
referred
to
as
stuck
in
the
middle
which
can
result in extremely low levels of profitability. Companies who find
themselves in this dilemma have two options, either:
(a)
Try and increase market share
OR
(b)
Differentiate themselves from competitors.
