Facial
Recognition
Face recognition technology uses special camera that locate user’s face. One of the
approaches is using facial features such as the distance between the nose and the chin.
Other approach compares the lightning of the current and template image
[4].
In enrollment and authentication process, user faces the camera in a distance within 24
inches and then the systems capture the face image and perform authentication [11].
Some factors that can cause the face recognition method to fail are: change in facial hair,
change
in
hairstyle,
lighting
conditions,
change
in
weight,
change
in
angle
when
image
is
taken, too
much
movement, and change between enrollment and
verification camera
in case of quality and placement [10].
Miros  and  Visionics  are  the  companies  that  produce  commercial  face  recognition
systems [2].
Voice
Recognition
The voice recognition can also be called speaker recognition. This technology involves
recognition of a speaker’s voice characteristic or verbal information verification
[4]. In
the application, this technology prompts a user for some spoken words, and authenticate
user based on voiceprints [2].
