2.1.1.5 Password
A password is a memorized base secret that is constructed from keystrokes.
Traditionally, password consisted of letters without special characters or embedded
blanks,
but
many
modern
systems
have
relaxed
these
restrictions.
Passwords
are
the
most basic authentication mechanism [2].
2.1.1.6 Tokens
Token
is
a
physical
item
that
a
person
must
have
when
using application that requires
authentication operation.
The problem with tokens is tha t they can be stolen and then use

perform
crime.
The
general
solution
to
this
problem
is
to
use
the
Personal
Identification Number or PIN. A PIN
is
like a password, but
it
is
usually
used as part of
a
two- factor authentication
mechanism which
combined

token.
However, PINs
are
not passwords; they are expected to be used with special hardware to reduce the risk of
token theft [2].
