CHAPTER 2
THEORETICAL FOUNDATION
2.1 Theoretical Foundation
2.1.1 Internet
The  basic  definition  of  Internet  is  the  network  of
networks,  which  largely
changes the way people to communicate, interact, and define community. It provides the
physical
means
or
resource
for
data
to
be
transferred
between
communicating
computers.
So
it
is
considered
that
Internet
consists
of
hardware,
such
as
computers,
cables, network
interface cards, etc, and also
it
includes software, such
as device drivers
and
communication
protocols.
Computers
around
the
world
are
connected
and
shared
each
other
in
the
Internet
using
a
standardized
set
of
procedures
called
TCP/IP.
It
is
rapidly
growing by roughly 10 percents a month, which
is well
thought-out as the
largest
intentional association of people and computers,
yet
invented and still
growing day after
day. Internet
is cooperative venture, which has
moved
from primarily an educational and
scientific
network
to
primarily
commercial network
[4].
These
days,
Internet
has
been
giving
a
huge
impact on
the
lives of
millions of
people
in
the world.
It
is
not
only
the
source
of
variety
of
information, but
it
is
also
place
where
people
can
find
lots
of
entertainments and
diversions across
the
networks,
and
lots
of
web-based business
and
commercial
activities,
and
also
it
is
changing
and
affecting
the
way
people
think
and
interact around the community.
