layer of the OSI model. It analyzes packets to find specific patterns
in
the
network
traffic –
in this thesis
using anomaly detection – and
if
they
find
such
an
irregular
pattern

traffic,

alert
is
logged
or
sent,
and
a
response
can
be
taken
based upon the database.
