According to Shelly, Cashman, Rosenblatt [Thomson,2005], structured
analysis uses a concept called the systems development life cycle (SDLC) to
plan and manage the systems development process.
The SDLC describes activities and functions that all systems developers
perform, regardless of which approach they use.
Traditionally,
the
SDLC
is

as
a
waterfall
model,
where
the
result
of
each
phase
flows
sequentially
into the next phase.
