Indonesia is one of the most promising tech markets in Asia” This make Indonesia a
vast potential for online gaming.
A research firm “Niko Partner” done a study to see online game market for Southeast
Asia region where the research covers several countries such as Singapore, Malaysia,
Thailand, Philippine, Indonesia and Vietnam. Result seen in the research that it is
predicted the online game market in Southeast Asia will reach an astounding $1.2
Million, doubled today’s value. Online gamers in this region are also forecasted to
increase to 132 million where today attaining 85 million users with revenues
reaching $661 Million. Gamers in Indonesia using PC online games will keep on
increasing and Indonesia is expected to grow exponentially in the number of online
game player and revenues surpassing other countr ies in Southeast Asia in the next
five years, (DailySocial, 2013). Revenues of online game industries throughout the
year 2013 in Indonesia increases by 35% numbering to $190 Million due to
Indonesia’s economic growth. Seeing the remarkable growth in the online gaming
industry from these facts, online gaming industries will keep on expanding to
compete with the demand in Indonesia, (Republika, 2014).
As there are little publications of data on Indonesian preference of online FPS games.
Data were taken from several sources from several blogs, well known Indonesia’s
gaming forums such as “Indogamers”, “KasKus” Indonesian’s largest forum, to
Indonesia newspaper company portal “Kompas”. The data gathered also for sever al
years from 2010 to 2013 to conclude data of numerous very popular online FPS
games in Indonesia.
