Empire is the earliest multiplayer game developed by John Daleske and Silas Warner
on 1973 using PALTO system (Mark, 2011). It was based on “Star Trek” (Woolley,
1994). The objective of the game is to conquer the galaxy with space ships and
control by typing commands because by that time there are no mouse yet. Empire has
several versions from its first version 1 developed on 1973 then version 2, 3 and on.
By the year 1976 Empire was in its 6th version called “Empire IV” (Daleske, 2008).
This version became the most popular game on PLATO system at the time (Fritz,
2009).
