INTRODUCTION

Background of
Problem
Up
to
now,
English
is
still
as
an
international
language
for
people
all
over
the
world. It
is
proved that English
has
become lingua
franca.
English
is
used
for
communication
among
different
people
with
different
native
languages.
Through
its
function
as
communication,
English
helps
to
unify
all
people
in
this
world.
English
is
not only
used
as communication.
Now
it
is
widely
used
in science,
business,
entertaimnent,
diplomacy,
tourism,
and
even on
the
internet.
Here
is
the
estimation
of
numbers
of
people
who
speak
English
made
by British
Council
which
is
browsed
from
retrieved
on
June 17,
2009.
It
reports
that
about
375
million
people
speak
English
as
their
native
language,
375
million
speak
it
frequently
as
another
second
language,
and about 750
million
more
people
speak
English as
a
foreign
language.
Through
all
of
these
functions,
the
basic
function
that
is
related
to
English is
the
use
of
communication
to
other
people
which
is
shown
in
speaking.
As
English
learners,
we
have
four required skills:
listening,
speaking,
reading
and
writing.
In
here,
speaking
is
the
second
of
the
four
languages skills.
Speaking often
becomes a
great problem
for
English
learners.
It
is
because
most of
English
learners
speak
with
incorrect
pronunciation.
This
problem
of
course
causes
listeners
especially
native
English
speaker
get
wrong
message
or
mishear
what
we are
talking
to
them.
