character, characterization, and setting. Andy’s character develops throughout the story,
because he needs to adapt to the new environment. The writer wants to show people
about life that Andy learnt much through his friends (inmates) in prison and also about
hope that he always have in him. 
The writer gets many benefits after watching and analyzing the movie. The main
character in The Shawshank Redemption
movie reveals his basic needs. The main
character shows and teaches people not to stop having a hope and carry it on even it is
difficult in prison. However, the main character, Andy Dufresne is able to prove that
have hope is not dangerous and do not makes man drive insane like red said. He even can
reach his hope after 19 years in the prison. So that, the writer believes as long as people
have a hope and never leave it and believe that it will come true someday. The writer gets
positive lesson from Andy Dufresne’s character because he as the main character is able
to reflect his passion to the viewers actually the writer. The writer is amazed with his
struggle to face everything that he never faced before. From this case, the writer wants
people who face the same case can see that being in prison is not so bad. The writer also
appreciates Andy because he can make prisoners’ think that having hope in prison is not
dangerous at all in the prison.
