Class struggle is some particular parts of social class and status which
people need to increase their economy or anything related to materiality. These
classes have forced people to increase their position in society.
The view of history as class struggle (rather than as, for instance, a succession
of dynasties, or as a gradual progress towards the attainment of national identity
and sovereignty) regards it as motored by the competition for economic,
social, and political advantage. (Barry, 2005, p.151)
From the quotation above, it is told that the basic of class struggle is the
competition of economy, social and political around society. The advantages
from the competition bring people to wealth, status and position. Class struggle
here means people create classes consciously in order to differentiate or
categorize their position, their power and it could be measured by the wealth they
have. This builds jealousy in society and they compete for it.
Some classes or group of people might be influenced by other group and
they created new culture to get the value of goods. Some of them have figures
who are successful in getting wealth. They also manipulate other people. They
will copy it and apply it to society or as social practice as an example for them.
Those ideas usually expressed the interest of the dominant social, economic
and political group of the era. They usually made economic inequality seem just
and right, and they made the rule of those in dominance seem natural and
legitimate. (Ryan, 2007, p.115)
The idea of class struggle begins when human has interest in the classes
that differentiate their status. These classes make people struggle whether they
can reach higher class or get into lower class. It is caused by the economic and
also political group in their era. This social class creates economic inequality and
the people in higher class can make their own rules and look like they do nothing
