problem, Marx divided people into several classes and kinds.
Marx divided people into three kinds; capitalist, worker and petty
bourgeoisie. Capitalist is a group of people who have more power to manage the
rules of life. People will see them from the wealth that they have and they should
be honored from their status. Worker is a group of people who find their wealth
by working and they borrow the tools from the other to fill their needs.
Petty Bourgeoisie is a group of people who rely entirely on the sale of
their labor power for survival. This is more explanation about Petty Bourgeoisie:
“The bourgeoisie has through its exploitation of the world market given
cosmopolitan character to production and consumption in every
country….satisfied by the productions of the country, we find new wants
requiring for their satisfaction the products of distant lands and climes.” (Marx
and Engels, 2003, p.5)
Petty Bourgeoisie talks about people classes that could be explained from
the economic situation in society. People’s character here could be seen from
their appearance and also life style which tell the detail of the group culture and
their thought about things such as food, clothes, music, art and anything related
to modern life. The new satisfaction is the product for petty bourgeoisie. It
signalizes its existence to the detailed object on people property.
From the quotation above, it tells that petty bourgeoisie is giving detailed
information about the people who adopt this idea. It is shown from the things that
the people have and also their appearance. From the information of the people’s
property, public know where the people’s position and their class.
