use sensitive sensors that measure chemical contents of the air to detect distinctive

2.1.3.5 Biometric Performance Measurement
Performance of a biometric system
is
measured by
three
terms: False Acceptance Rate
(FAR), False Rejection Rate (FRR), and Failure to Enroll Rate (FER) [12].
False
Acceptance
Rate
(FAR)
is
the
probability
that
a
false
user
is
incorrectly
recognized as the true owner of the biometric data.
False Rejection Rate (FRR) is the probability that a true owner who grants access is
rejected by the system although he/she already has an account in the system.
Failure to Enroll Rate (FER) is the probability that a person will not be able to enroll or
sign
up
a
new
account
into
the
system
because
of
the
persons
biometric
condition.
Thus, the system can not make a template of biometric data of that particular perso n due
to the bad condition of his/her biometric part which is used as the parameter.
The three performance measurements are strongly related with each other. Therefore, all
those three measurement should be taken into consideration when creating a biometric
system [12].
