Many system analysts believe that questionnaire becomes more unreliable nowadays
due
to
the
respondents
are
not
answering
those
questions
as
expected.
According
to
Whitten [4], there are pros and cons about gathering information or facts by using
questionnaire.
Advantages:
1.
Most questionnaires can be answered quickly. People can complete and return
questionnaire after they answer completely to the analyst.
2.   Questionnaires
are
very
cheap
in
gathering
data
from
large
number
of
respondents.
3.   Questionnaires allow respondents to
maintain ambiguity which
means they prefer
to provide real
facts than telling
you what
they think their boss
would
want them
to.
4.   Responses can be tabulated and analyzed quickly.
Disadvantages:
1.   The number of responses is often low.
2.   It’s impossible for analyzing the respondent’s body language
3.   There is no immediate opportunity to clarify a vague or incomplete answer to any
question.
4.   Good
questionnaires
are
difficult
to
predict
because
there’s
no
guarantee
that
an
individual will answer or expand on all the questions correctly.
