Human Computer Interaction
There are several things that need to be known by Android
developers about Human Computer Interaction, which will be
explained in this section.
2.1.7.1 Definition
According to Shneiderman and Plaisant (2010), Human
Computer Interaction covers the designing, evaluation and
implemetation of interactive computer system used by human.
In this study, some principles are created to guide developers
in designing a suitable and user-friendly interface. Some of
widely-used principles in designing user interfaces are Eight
Golden Rules of Interface Design and Five Measurable
Human Factors.
2.1.7.2 Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design
To be able to design an attractive interface, it is highly
advisable to follow the established rules defined in Human and
Computer Interaction study such as Eight Golden Rules of
Interface Design by Shneiderman and Plaisant (2010:88).
Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design consists of:

Strive for consistency
Being consistent in using and arranging elements
for the interface such as page layout, menu, font
type, font colour, sequences of actions, etc., will
make it easier for users to understand how to use
the software.
