Essential
Competencies
serve
as
the foundation
of knowledge
and
skill
neededby
everyone
and
can
be
developed
through
training
and are relatively easy to identify.
2.
Differentiating Competencies distiguish superior performance
from avarage performance
3.
Strategic Competencies includes those are core competencies of
the organization. These tend to focus on organizational capability
and include competencies that create a competitive advantage (e.g.
innovation, speed, service, technology)
Di
dalam buku

dikatakan
bahwa
Essential
Competencies
dapat
dikembangkan dengan mudah melalui pelatihan
pelatihan yang
diselenggarakan. Sedangkan Differentiating Competencies dikatakan
meliputi
self
concept,
traits
dan
motives. Diferentiating Competencies
sedikit lebih sulit untuk dikembangkan tetapi sangat penting karena dapat
menentukan keberhasilan suatu pekerjaan dalam jangka panjang.

: A specific, identifiable, definable, and measurable
knowledge,
skill,
ability
and/or
other
deployment-related characteristic
(e.g.
attitude,
behavior,
physical
ability) which
a
human
resource
may
possess and which is necessary for, or material to, the performance of an
activity within a specific business context.
