designed (e.g.
in Final Fantasy 7,
which
has concrete example of
spaces,
such
as
earth,
Shinra
Company building, etc
[5].
Compare
to
Final
Fantasy,
PacMan
has
simpler
design
and
situated
in
the
world
represented as
a
maze
and
without
a
particular
time
as its
plot
or world setting.
Moreover,
the
games
worlds are
similar to
Earth,
in
which both are populated with entities and objects.
However,
there
also
lies
the
difference, in
which
Earth
is
authentic
space
occupied
by
real
entities (e.g.
have
real
living
organs)
and
objects, while
games
worlds
are
considered to be a virtual space or environment with synthetic entities (e.g. created
with
lines
of
codes
or
machine
language) and
objects.
The
synthetic
entities
that
retain autonomous as
their
main characteristics and
inhabited the
virtual space are
called animat(s), Alex J. Champandard [6] explained.
The
animats
autonomous
trait
does
not
automatically available
for
use
and
therefore, similar
to
any
creations
within
the
virtual
environment, it
requires
the
developer to
design
and
formulate
it. As
an agent
in
the
virtual
environment, the
animat attempts to produce a replica of a living entitys behavior
in the real world,
which
leads toward the
need of
creating the appropriate senses
similar to
the
five
senses
found
on
human
being
and
animals
as
well
as
a
management system,
the
brain, to control these senses, especially
in terms of acquiring data,
interpreting
the
data
to
information,
and
reacting
accordingly
to
the
information.
